About Legends Eatery
Quaint, family-friendly corner eatery for old-school Italian fare & American desserts with BYOB.
Legends Eatery is an italian restaurant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 500 E North Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, which places it among the local businesses of Pittsburgh that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
In Pittsburgh, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across Pennsylvania do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 4β8 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (412) 321-8000. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, legendseaterypgh.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 636 reviews, which is a strong result for an italian restaurant in Pittsburgh and suggests consistent service.
Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Pittsburgh peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This was my first experience at Legends. Parking is challenging, leave early and allow plenty of time to find a spot and plan to walk. Entering the restaurant is a challenge as well. If you are with an elderly person, or someone who struggles with a walker or cane, the steps are super steep. The restaurant is small and tables are tight. Back in the day it was a pizza shop so that will give you an idea how small it is inside. The night we went it was very warm outside and the restaurant inside was also quite warm. They had a fan running in the entryway but it was uncomfortable. Our server was lovely but clearly overwhelmed. We ordered 4 salads, 3 were delivered. It took almost 10 minutes to get another waitress to let our waitress know and then get the salad. They had a special that included shrimp but our waitress said they were out of shrimp but you could choose chicken as a replacement. The person in our party who was missing their salad chose the special with chicken but when it was delivered it was not the special described so he chose another dish and that came out not as described. I will say the server was polite and did give us the other dish at no charge to take home but t

Legends offers Italian style dining for the Pittsburgh crowd. Featuring 4.oz standard sized portions and served in the 3 course style you can get a good quality dining experience right here in the burgh. Portions are well plated and clock in at $16-$20 an entree sans protein. Tack on some shrimp, chicken, or steak for a small fee. My group took advantage of the BYOB policy and split a bottle of wine. Seating can get a little cramped and crowded during busy times, so it's good to call ahead for larger parties to accommodate. The desserts were delicious & they offered a nice post-dinner cafe espresso. Try to scope out parking beforehand. During N.Shore events it can be sparse. Tho there is parking by the local park and some side street spots during standard daytime hours.

I just got a chicken parm and it was good!!! Pasta was a little cold, I think they can do something about it. The place is small but it has a nice vibe. The servers are very attentive. Sometimes you need reservation but anyways I recommend this place

Our waitress, Karen, was absolutely amazingβattentive, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. She made our dining experience extra special with her genuine hospitality and great recommendations. The food was outstandingβeverything was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can tell thereβs real care and passion behind every dish. We left full, happy, and already talking about our next visit. Legends is truly a gem in Pittsburgh, and Karen made it unforgettable. We canβt wait to come back!

We had an amazing meal and the service is outstanding. Malinda our server went above and beyond with great recommendations. We were celebrating our daughters progress report and talking about it being her special day so when my daughter and to the bathroom she went out of her way to ask if the dessert should have a candle and what we were celebrating. Every person in the staff was working to make our night perfect, as has been our experience with every visit. Chef Dan attracts great people! This is a top 5 Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. The corkage fee is very reasonable! The fried cannoli is very unique and recommend trying. The mussels are outstanding but everything from start to finish was outstanding. The veal with peppers was great! Also they have gluten free pasta as one of our party has a gluten intolerance and she said it was some of best gluten free pasta she has had.
